Is shopping an illness or a therapy?

In the class, we were divided into two groups and had a debate on two topics. The topics were shopping is a illness and shopping is therapy. Our topic was shopping is therapy and we had to prove it. We proved that shopping is a therapy because it lifts people’s mood for a while when they are sad. Or gets out of depression. The score ended 1:1
